CASE STUDY
Merchant Taylors’ School
TaskSpace was delighted to be appointed by Merchant Taylors’ School in Middlesex to refurbish two science laboratories – after a previous supplier had let the school down. As one of the most renowned boys’ schools in the UK, the new laboratories were to be cutting edge, modular and spacious additions to the science department.
After consulting with the team at Merchant Taylors’ and taking a detailed brief, it was agreed that both science laboratories were to be 100% modular, meaning that every element of the room, apart from the fixed sinks, could easily be moved to suit the requirements of the teachers and students, for any given lesson.
After the team at Merchant Taylors’ had signed off on the 3D layouts put forward by our school design team, our installation team picked up the project. As the school building is 200 years old, we quickly found out that floor was not level and set about rectifying this whilst preparations were made to install the bespoke teaching walls at the front of each classroom.
Once the uneven floor had been leveled, the installation of both science labs was carried out on time and on budget. Resulting in two contemporary, modular science rooms that are in keeping with the rest of the school’s superb facilities.
The team at Merchant Taylors’ and TaskSpace are delighted with the new science laboratories and we hope that this is the start of a long term partnership with the school.
